Construction Craft Preparation Program II ( Year 2 Seniors)

    • Pipe Laying

  • Certifications: Students will earn their OSHA safety certification as well as 4 of the courses required to enter into the full apprenticeship program through the Illinois Laborers and Contractors Union. 

Construction Craft Preparation Program I (Juniors and Year 1 Seniors)

  • Time: 1:40 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.

  • Location: SCI Center

  • Length: Full Year

  • Instructor: Jason Jackson

  • Course/Certification: 

    • Craft Orientation

    • General Construction

    • Construction Math

    • Concrete Specialist One

    • OSHA certification

  • These courses will

    consist of both classroom and hands-on training in the knowledge and skills

    needed to become a Construction Craft Laborer. Both first and second year will consist

    of 4 smaller courses spread out over 2 Semesters. The full program

    will introduce students to a wide variety of skills and

    knowledge they can expect to use regularly on job sites. The courses will

    provide a classroom-based instruction and performance-based experience

    through extensive hands-on job task activities.

    Students will be assessed on their ability to perform construction tasks in

    each specific course, both to accomplish job tasks efficiently and to follow all

    safety regulations and standard operating procedures.
