The SCI Regional Workforce Training and Innovation Center received a gift of tools and equipment from Ranken Technical College on September 4. The Auto Tech program at SCI in Litchfield hosts high school students from several neighboring communities. The gift was made to complete the auto lab’s tool and equipment inventory in the Center’s pursuit of program accreditation by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). Robert Callanan of Ranken Technical College made the presentation. Director Juletta Ellis and instructor Eric Gray are pursuing the lengthy and detailed ASE accreditation of the SCI Center’s auto tech program. A successful result will give the students access to OEM training material and make the center eligible for training assets such as current technology engines, transmissions and complete lab vehicles.
